Counting days
The count starts on the first date and stops before the second, which is how most people count nights or durations. Include the end date to count both days, for example when counting the days of a trip or an event that runs on every day.
Questions and answers
Does the count include the end date?
By default the end date is not counted, so 1 to 2 January is one day. Turn on “Include end date” to count both dates, which gives two days.
How are months counted?
Whole months are counted from the start date to the same day in a later month. When that day does not exist (31 February), the last day of the month is used.
Are leap years taken into account?
Yes. Every calculation uses the real calendar, so 29 February is counted in leap years.
